Since 2017 the Ithaca College Contingent Faculty Union has represented over 400 part-time and full-time faculty at Ithaca College (about 40% of the total faculty at IC). If you're at Ithaca College and you teach part-time, or full-time on a limited-term contract, Congratulations - you are protected by a strong union!
At a time of increasingly precarious working conditions within academia, we advocate and, when necessary, fight for improved job security, better pay, and inclusion within the academic community for our members.
Ithaca College contingent professors are highly trained professionals from some of the nation’s top colleges and universities. They are Grammy Award nominated performers, internationally touring musicians, and published fiction writers. They are exhibiting and grant winning artists, from organizations such as the Constance Saltonstall Foundation, attending prestigious residencies like the Vermont Studio Center. Our Health Science Faculty members often have working positions within the Cayuga Medical System and have been recognized by Institutions like the American Academy of Physician Assistants, among others. This is only a short list of what some of our lecturing faculty have accomplished and bring to their teaching at IC. The Contingent Faculty Union represents them proudly and understands that students' educational experiences are improved when the entire academic community is well supported.

Our next union meetings are on December 5th, and December 11th at 5pm at Liquid State.
